Google Office - Breithaupt Block

Building One of the Breithaupt Block is located at the corner of Breithaupt and King Street in downtown Kitchener. Once the site of Merchant Rubber Company, the 1955-constructed modernist building was in use until the mid-2000s. This final phase of the project began in Spring of 2014, and has stripped back the façade of the existing building to make way for new glass and steel construction. The addition of three complete floors brings the building to a total of 102,000 square feet of office space and serve as the new home for Google Canada. The project is on track to achieve LEED Gold Certification, incorporating many green features such as high performance glazing, a roof-top garden, and high-efficiency mechanical systems.
