A new ownership group plans to invest up to $3.5 million in the next few years to convert the historic Walper Hotel into an upscale boutique facility. The group announced Wednesday that it has acquired the iconic red-brick hotel at the corner of King and Queen streets in a deal that closed Aug. 30.
